making things, analog + digital

making things, analog + digital *

My work focuses on feminism, materiality, and human connectivity through the use of textiles and found objects in large sculpturally-informed works. Influenced by my formal training as a graphic designer, I gravitate toward color harmonies and material histories in analog and digital forms. I aim to grapple with and prove that we are not as isolated as we might imagine by exposing the interwoven links to unknown people (past and present) through objects.

My Creative Process

  • A Small Spark

Where did this idea come from? What did I find inspiring? Why should I move forward with it?

  • Research

Research is the backbone of my artistic practice.

  • Ideate and Iterate

While research can keep a project structurally sound, ideation and iteration can keep it nebulous. Seeing how an idea organically forms is sometimes where the magic appears.

  • Materialize

After laying the foundation of a project, it becomes a collaboration between artist, material, and concept.
