Concept + Ideation

I wanted to make something with an additional piece added to a tea light shade for this project. I Decided To create a hanging tea light shade and a flower vase in a single unit. I made a 3D printed base and a laser-cut shade interweaved with fabric to execute this concept. The entire piece hangs from a chain and can be attached to almost anything with a lobster clasp. Since my idea utilized multiple techniques, I chose to sketch my thoughts on my iPad using Procreate, then I transferred those sketches to Adobe Illustrator and created the base in Tinkercad.

Within my project, I used semi-transparent iridescent acrylic, fabric, a tea light, a test tube, a flower bud, and PLA filament, as well as jewelry clamps, chain, UV resin, and super glue. As I made this project, I used a laser cutter to cut the acrylic, a 3D printer to create the base, and used handcrafted techniques to assemble.
